Frequently asked questions

I don't see any of my workouts on the map.

FitMapped draws routes from outdoor workouts in Apple Health — walks, runs, and rides that recorded a GPS route. Two things to check:

Why do some of my workouts not show a route?

Indoor workouts — treadmill runs, gym sessions, indoor cycling — don't record a GPS route, so there's nothing for FitMapped to draw. The same is true for any outdoor workout that was recorded without location data. Only workouts with a saved route appear on the map.

I granted Apple Health access but the map is still empty.

If you've never recorded an outdoor workout with GPS data, there's nothing to map yet. Record a walk, run, or ride outdoors and let it sync to Apple Health — FitMapped checks for new workouts each time you open it, so your route will appear the next time you launch the app.

I tapped "Don't Allow" on the Health prompt — how do I turn access on?

iOS only shows the Health permission prompt once. To grant access afterward:

FitMapped's own Settings screen also has an Open iOS Settings button that takes you straight there.

A workout I deleted in Apple Health still appears on the map.

FitMapped keeps a local cache of your routes so the map loads quickly. If you delete or edit a workout in Apple Health, open FitMapped, go to Settings › Rebuild Cache, and confirm. FitMapped clears its cache and re-imports fresh from Apple Health.

Can I use FitMapped without Apple Health?

FitMapped's whole purpose is to map the workouts already in Apple Health, so Health access is needed to see your own routes. Without it, the app shows sample routes only.
